Found a cigar bar inside Universal Studios. Kids are walking around the City Walk area full of shops and clubs and restaurants. They dropped me off here. I am smoking an Oliva V double Toro and having a pint of Lager from the oldest operating brewery in the US…from PA. Watching the Braves vs NYY.
They have three screens. Long ten stool bar and ten tables. All dark wood. There are tobacco leaves hanging in the rafters with red blue and green Christmas lights. The kitchen hangs on the wall offering three different types of chips.
Nice walk-in humidor with a healthy selection. I was afraid of the prices per stick. Remember ordering a cigar from a gentlemens club or cigar-friendly restaurant? The prices are double, the selection tiny and the sticks are stale. I thought it might be the same here at least with prices. To my surprise they have a healthy selection that fits every budget. The prices might be a dollar or so higher for the same I get at home but hey that might be due to taxes for all I know. They had brands I recognized from $6 – $11. I am happy. The $11 I paid for my smoke is about $10 in Dallas.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. The lager I am enjoying (think Sam Adams) was suggested. It is a full service bar.
The trip has gone very well. The whole reason to go was for Harry Potter world. We got up and got in early and went straight for it. It is on the opposite end to the main entrance to the gates for Island of Adventure. One of two theme Parks for Universal Studios. We went straight to Harry Potter. Man it did not disappoint. We did everything. Took a hundred pictures. Rode the three rides twice. Forbidden Journey in the school castle is just amazing. You really are inside the movie. We ate at Three Broomsticks. Had a beer at Hogshead. Got wands at Olivanders. Had butterbeer. There are plenty of drinking fountains. I got a AAA discount at Three Broomsticks. Saw two concerts from Hogwarts students. Just amazing. We spent six hours there. Then Amy was emotionally spent so we went back to our hotel for a few hours and now are back for City Walk. The Parks close at 9pm but City Walk stays open till 2am. And we have tomorrow for the rest of the park. Amazing Spiderman, Cartoon Strip land, Jurrasic Park and more.
The hotel Quality Inn & Suites just across the street is very nice. We have a suite two rooms but not completely two rooms. The bath and vanity is in-between.
